so next up is gonna be a bunch of pics of everywhere the chop was done and the wheel wells. I'm super proud of the way all the chop lines turned out. me and my old timer budy Bill Udie killed ourselves at them to make them perfect. i told him i wanted it to look like if Henry Ford stamped and seem welded a 4" chopped 32 fordor body together thats how this thing needs to look. i think we did ok. :D

and here are the wheel wells. i left all the spot welds and everything the way it should be but welded the fender holes on the top of the wells up for a cleaner look and that way i dont sling water or what not up ion them. i fought with myself over that for like 2 weeks. i wanted to do a set of bobbed fenders to take on and off to give it a different look if i wanted but after seeing it in paint this car aint never gonna see fenders.

well i hope you guys are digging on my project so far. like i said i suck at anything computer related and will try to keep up on this things so please bare with me.

also since so many cool cars had/have bad ass names i"ve decided on the name for this car. since it was my twins coming that got my ass in gear on it i wanted to do something related to them.

Yaril who chopped the car "cut his teeth" on VW stuff.

put those 2 together and you get german for twins/ or evil twin.

    "The Doppelganger"

some people may not like it or get it but thats why its my car. :)

Haha ya it's green. The base starting point is actually 1942 ford niles blue green. I had found a can of spray paint I was in love with too and did a spray out of it. My local paint shop did that digital photo color match on both and I went with the color chip in between the 2. The 3 colors were literally in order of hue. Kinda a mix of the 2 so to speak and it's kinda weird in the sun it lightens up a ton and indoors its actually like a blueish green.

Soon as I get a sunny day ill push it out and get a really good bright pic of it.

  17. Great build so far.

Love the color. Keep on keepin' on...

Thanks guys I'm glad everyone is seeing my vision. Now I have to decide on wheel color. Ill post a sample of both options and get some opinions on it. Just gonna paint 2 extra wheels I got laying around the shop and set them next to the body. When ya see the pics posted please give me u guys opinions.

LOVE the color... real close to what my A Tudor was. For accent I think a light cream or vanilla shake color looks best.

Wow...nice buld you got going. Great story too! You better get cracking, whats you due date? I dig the green paint can't wait to see the wheel colors. I would have to paint em black, but I'm not very creative like that! Maybe forest green? Maybe...well I'll just have to wait and see!

So ok I finally started using the iPhone app and realized its way easier and faster to post pics this way. I'm stoked about that but like I said I'm terrible at anything digital.

Here is a pic of the body and my kid acting like she's driving and my shop all crammed with parts and the doors back from paint. ImageUploadedByTJJ1360270252.507243.jpg

Also I got the frame and all the suspension torn apart to finish it up and get it painted. I've been fighting with myself on things and after talking to Matt and the Longly's who restored the henderson roadster and the Crawford stoner roadster I decided I'm chroming the front axle, 32 spindles, and backing plates, and painting the insert on the backing plates and axle black.

I'm picking up the nailhead from the machine shop in 4 days and it will look bone stock. Punched out a bit with a good cam. I want it to look like I built the car in 53-54 and bought a nailhead out of a wrecked car and put it in "like new"

Ill post more pics soon. Almost time to start slamming this thing together.

My best friend Dave Martinez of Martinez industries is gonna fly in and help and do some on sight upholstery for me. I'm way stoked for that

I'd like to. All depends on the twins and how my old lady is doing. She'd cut my ass if I just bailed.
