The same people produce both the UK and US Top Gear shows. Why the US version is so crappy in comparison is simple - you have to get three people that have good chemistry and fit well together. The US version is hosted by three morons. The UK version is hosted by a pompous ass and two froot loops, but they get along so much better than the US hosts!

I've collected "Uncle Toms" Roadtests, he sure loved Chryslers, especially Imperials!
His comments on the 59' Imperial were pure Gold. "This Doll was as loaded as an opium peddler during a Tong War" "Swivel seats make it as easy to get into, as a floating crap game with fresh money" Ahh, those were the days!

I don't remember exactly where (maybe over at ForwardLook.net) ... but I do remember reading a similar comparison of the "Uncle Tom" McCahill road tests & the "Top Gear" programmes.

 

Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth DeSoto and Imperial - the Company was built on sound engineering.
