Update - going to Chicago to visit head to Kentucky pick up the seat Anybody ever ship a front seat by bus freight? I have a 1950 Pontiac 2 door front seat 49 to 50 Olds Chevy Pontiac guys you know what a front seat weighs 100 lbs is the max weight on a bus per piece my plan is take the seat backs off tie them to the main seat body Thanks for any help on the seats weight & bus shipping info i have a want ad on Hamb for a hauler coming my way or hook up with them

Enter bus wearing maintenance uniform. Remove one bus seat. Replace with pontiac seat. Ship uniform to seat buyer. He enters bus, removes pontiac seat. And runs like hell.
yes and you cant beat their prices. You must deliver your package to their store and the guy on the other end must pick it up at their store. It cost us $100 for an item that everyone else wanted $300 and it was so heavy that UPS and Fedex wouldnt touch it
Fastenal ships?? A friend of mine had a 40 Ford hood shipped from Cal. to Ala. Greyhound no problem at good price.
Try bicycle boxes. They have handles. They are about 8-9" wide, around 30-36" tall, and about 48-60" long. I shipped two Model A doors in one of the larger bike boxes. Remember, every inch counts with USPS and FED EX. One inch over and they bill you for 90 pounds no matter what it weighs. I put a post on FB looking for someone to help you haul in closer to us. I shipped a seat greyhound. I took the back off and shipped it as two packages. They lost the back somewhere. How do you misplace half a bench seat!? But they did.
my great aunt got on a bus to visit us, went to pick her up and all we found was a half a bench seat.

Greyhound up here cubes everything now. A 43 pound trunk lid used to cost about a dollar a pound. Now runs about $80 because they measure everything like fedex or ups.
solved the shipping problem I'll be going to Chicago Wednesday and visit family the seat is 6 hours from there in Kentucky so Thursday morning i'll take a little ride and pick it up Thanks for all the good information update mission accomplished plus more 50 Olds parts I picked up the seat in Kentucky my garage in Minnesota the roundtrip was 1,604 mile visited family in Chicago 50 Olds 88 Hood & other 50 Olds parts on the seat from the Wisconsin stop
