No the Darts in these years are alot different unlike the 2nd gen barracudas, some of the valiant pieces fit most of the panels look the same but have minor differences these are basically a valiant with a big rear window though.
He'd be one seriously cool young'n with a ride like that at 15-16 yrs. old. Would probably scare away all the cute Bieber babes though.
I've had my 65 Barracuda since 1984. Love having something different when I go down the road and to cruises. Fun car, lightweight, and semi quick, and did I mention not a belly button car. Kept mine looking old school, anything modern is hidden, including the nitrous. Enjoy the father-son time and keep at it till its done, you'll have the only one in the high school parking lot!

I bought the car in Skidmore near San Antonio i think, but it has Tennessee plates. It has a 360 now, but originally it had a 273, and it's an automatic.
Goon - built this liitle 6/3sp base coupe with some parts I had sitting around......a 340/4sp and a 8-3/4....this was the factory silver paint - I wish the new owner had stayed with...he painted it black....it's why I asked about yours....it was out of Dallas- sold it to but the 69 S
What to do on the super cheap for your Barracuda... •Leave the (probably) saggy rear springs alone and stuff the biggest 15 inch steel wheel you can in there. You'll need a couple of adapters (from the goofy 4" pattern to a 4.5" pattern) and get a 7 inch wheel under there. Then, maybe a 27" tall tire. Paint the wheels gloss black •Up front, crank the torsions up a bit and save some pennys for 2 15" x 4" 5 spoke American's or ETs on a skinny tire like a 145 75 15. Update the drivetrain to match the menacing looks when you can afford to do so! Oh....and leave the silly stickers and lettering and "racecar" stuff to the import crowd because you'll be parking on the other side of the school parking lot.
You gotta love it! This bunch of old hard asses might have handed you your walkin' papers on another day. I was 14 once and even had a car - a POS '55 Ford. I shutter to think of how much stupid stuff I did to that poor heap. I've learned more stuff on here than I ever did on my own, so walk soft and search the wealth of hard earned knowledge offered by these guys - it'll be worth a few "flames". BTW, had Cuda with a stout 340 - but the back "sky light" makes great camper too!

I've got him a 360 block never boared....727 torqflight.....and a 9" if he descides to use them......
I like the 360/727 plan I hope he stays away from the 9" tho Go 8 3/4 for a stronger rear and mopar .

We owned a '65 Formula S in the early 80's note: You can barely see the stripe on the center of the nose I'll have to dig out more to see if I have one with the stripe visible At a car show in the Houston Mall After my Dad (RIP) painted it blue (sans the stripe) One question though, why wouldn't you want the fuel injection??
