Being I'm just sitting around rideing this blizzard out:mad:, I got to wondering what happened to all the dragster builds that were on here when I joined, are you guys and gals still working on them? are they sitting waiting for more funds, or did you have to sell them, Just curious ,,, Tim Jones At least the dogs are enjoying the weather:D

Here's one for you. I built this from total scratch, in 8 months. Pic is from Bakersfield, November 4, 2012 and is the cars very first burnout. Car left hard and straight, wheels up! Loads of fun after 22 years of not having a racecar and not racing.

I know what you mean about funds, just about everything I done on the car in the last couple months is hardware I've made myself , Not that doing it your self is a bad thing, Same weather up here, got a 4 foot deep drift across my driveway, don't think I'm going anyplace to soon, Tim Jones

Is there a new rule concerning front engine dragsters that states that the driver must sit much higher than the level of the rear axle as opposed to sitting at the same level?

Not that I know of, But I'm not a chassis builder, My seat is pretty much on the floorpan but it's copyed after a 50's, 60's style car, Why do you ask? Tim Jones

Yeah I've noticed that too, But it seems most of the chassis guys on here ,Rooman, dreracar, King chassis, cornfield customs and the others build them and they still have the look of the 50's,60's and 70's cars, Tim Jones

I have the driver as low as possible in my new car. I can just see over the cowl & I'm 6ft. My buddy who is the driver is over 6 ft 6 in tall and I made the cage to fit him. I had a guy looking at the car who said that it was the new style with a raised driver, I laughed and said get in. He is 5ft8in and looked like a midget in the car, the top of his head was lower than the tin. One point to remember the new NHRA rule = the drivers helmet must not be closer than 2in from the top bar. The new required padding is 1in thick. My car has a pro tag and certs to 5.99 and quicker.
