Ahhh....cool. I know remember. That was a good time at Frederick. Wish my arm wasn't broken and I was stung out on pain meds that weekend. It was fun!

    That's really cool!

A fellow in the Detroit area had one with a SOHC Ford Cammer in it. Anybody have pics?

Here's a shot of my Thunderbird engine . It's a disguised small block chevy with ford valve covers and a fake "Garlits" injection.

When the modified sports class ended NY National speedway put us in B/G I never thought so but who am I to argue. Later it was a C/A and rightly so.

Looks like the old girl is having a good time! Looking at the first pic I suspect the car is a survivor from the old days. Is that correct?

  15. I love this thread! Keeps me geared towards the start of Project Wildthing, hopefully in the spring as I have a current project to finish for my father inlaw. I now have all the engine trans rear mechanicals, just need to start! A blown 540 Dart with a Lenco! So keep the pics coming!

Don't let him fool you...the ol girl steps out with the best of them and puts on a hell of a show. Before Tom stands her on it's bumper he does hellacious tire killing cross the line burnouts then a great series of high rpm dry hops... and that's just when he's leaving the burger joint

Is that a fiberglas car? I saw that picture a while ago promoting fiberglas T-birds. It does make a good looking gasser.

I realized this hasn't been added to the thread.

This car ran at Ark City, KS for many years with a blown small block. Was in the 9's. Currently runs a little 287 sbc built by GlassThamesDoug. Ford 9 inch with 5.87 gears! We have been toying with it, but still haven't taken the time to get it dialed in. It is to the point of carb tuning, timing and see how it goes. She goes, she goes. She blows, she blows.

Yes it is a glass car , I started off with a steel one that was missing a bunch of stuff and couldn't find the necessary parts to complete it ,then this glass one came up for sale locally . An unassembled kit for so cheap I couldnt pass it up. Kinda funny about that company using my car as an example , I didn't know anything about it . Another company that builds glass 55 chevy's used my steel 55 chev as an example too. Guess they just liked the way it looked.

  25. My oldest brother's car which is currently under reconstruction. Not sure when it will be finished as of yet. Plans are to get the woodie going and it will have a hot rod (street-able) 394ci Olds.
I'll see if I can get some updated pics from him to post.
