How cool is this!!! My buddy sees ad on Craigslist for a hot rod, he can't get out there, so he asks me to drive out to check it out for him, so a 45 min drive towards LA, in traffic, to this old building, where this old timer is waiting, we go inside and peel off the car cover off this shoe box ford and holly cow !!!! This car has barris badges on it, I try not to get too excited and look it over, listen to his story , then he pulls out certificates authenticating its the real deal, and this car was advertised for under 20k, well after some negotiations and stories, I drove it home, wouldn't you!!!

Can't be hard to figure this out. If it has it's original paint, there are only so many 'shoeboxes' out there that rolled out of the Barris shop in red.... of note. There are plenty that are not noteworthy too that will not be of the caliber we're all hoping for.

Over the last 50 years almost anything can be badged and passed off..... I hope I'm wrong and it's something good.

So...your friend finds the car on Craigslist and wants you, his friend, to check it out for him...and you end up buying it out from under him?...some friend you are...

Yeah, this car was discussed a bit ago. I can't find the thread. Very cool either way. All I'd do is get the pontiac grille back in chrome. Good score.

Congrats - so, any pics of when it was first built? any not so obvious modifications done to it?
so, what is the story on the coupe on trailer in backround?

  30. There was a a video on Youtube of that same car not long ago. Does it have a electric popper in the trunk? If it does I'm SURE it is the same car.
