Lovely winter day here in Sweden today -13C (8.5F) and some fresh snow. The banger fired up nicely so I took the A for a spin

What size intakes? Are those hard seats on the intakes?

 

I was going to drive the Model "A" today. The temperature is in the 50 range. We have a little snow on the ground in the shade. I worked on fire wood instead.Thanks for starting the thread. It is one of my favorite along with Sunday morning models.

I was just kidding.
My Hal head is on a B block. The head needs some welding, That is the hold up.

My Winfield "Yellow Head" was just welded up by Midwest Cylinder Head in Nevada, IA. Sent it off the Friday before Thanksgiving and got it back Wednesday - pretty dang fast. Had a crack on the water outlet 'backbone' about 6" behind the Winfield script and another between water passages on the mating surface - you'd never know it was ever cracked, perfect repair. I highly recommend them.

That looks great, its a lot of work and messy I had my share of chips down my shirt and in the hair too.

You need one of them CNC porting machines LOL
I have several programs now that I rough mill and then finish by hand that way I have a little giude line to blend to I guess its cheeting a little but seems to work for me.
What are you running for intake and exhaust valves?

Despite proper safety equipment, I am still blowing cast iron filled snot out of my nose.

Intake valves are cut down 1.94" SBC valves shaped and swirl polished. exhaust is stock size modern valves shaped and swirl polished too.

I have a CNC machining center at work, but It would have taken more time to develop, write a program, set up, and cut the ports then it did to do it by hand. I'm sure you know that!!!!! I, just don't do enough to justify all that work.

I like it, I'm thinking of setting up my sedan with a Winfield red head and Winfield BB down draft.

What size SR's are you running?
What Distributor are you running that has a mechanical tach drive?

The carbs are dual "AA" with a adapter choking them to a Stromberg base.
I took them off and put on 2 81's and got my fastest times and the Iowa hillclimb this year.
The carb is now looking good on Jason "Elrod" 's coupe.
The Mallory is a tach drive for a MGB that I machined down to fit my A about 15 years ago. I will try to find a part number & photo some time.

 

Very nice! What are the specs on the cam? I dig the Rex-A-Co gauges...I'm thinking about running a set too.
