1934 Ford Vicky Build

I cuttup my 33 Fordor and made it into a Vicky style Rear,but I added a decklid and like having the easy access to some storage space,the rear window on the 33 Vicky is one inch closer to the dash than the 34 which I think creates the more pronounced hump between the 2 upper rear Body lines on the 33,measured both before starting my build.you have undertaken a true transformation there ,I am impressed.

 

I got the pieces removed and the roof slid forward this morning. It already looks so much more proportional.

Any plans to chop it? Looks like a subtle 2" chop would be in order. IMHO

Plans are to keep it stock for now. Maybe once we get the new chassis here and put all the fenders back we'll look at if it needs a chop then.

 

I got the sections all tacked together. Now I'll start making the rear panel and corners.

Ya filling the trunk area with a panel the same as the 33' Vicky.

 

I worked today on figuring out the shape of the rear panel on the Vicky. Took me a few tries but I think I've got a shape that I think flows really well.

I worked today on making the wood buck for the rear panel. Its just made out of 1/4" plywood and some inner braces to nail it all together. Just fast and simple. Now I have something to use to make this rear panel.

 

I have a hard time keep up with all of your projects but I love them all. This will be a very nice transformation of a 34 Vicky.

I´m amazed at having to take that much out of the roof, to make it look like it should with the gas tank cover. I´d never have thought there was so much of a difference.

 

Got the rear panel made and i'm starting to get it fitting on the car.

 

I worked today on getting the new rear panel I made attached to the lower panel. I first lined up the top bead exactly where I wanted it. Then I used some cleco's to clamp the new panel to the lower panel. Then I removed them both off of the car and trimmed them and got them tack welded together. Next I want to get the bead that goes into the wheel well to line up, and then I can make the corners.

We got the crate engine today, and I worked on making some templates for the rear corner pieces on the Vicky.

We got in the new TCI chassis the other day. I've just been putting all the pieces together. Quite the puzzle. Ha

 

I finished putting everything together on the chassis. Then I removed the Vicky body off of the old chassis and started fitting it to the new chassis. I had to do some tweaking on some of the mounting holes, but overall the body fit really well.
