I own a 1961 Chevy apache c10. It has fleet sides and alot of rust. I have the original 283 in it with a carter 500. I love this truck but am not sure of exactly the way in going to go with it. I know I'm kind of undecided on whether to find 327 short block to rebuild with a higher than normal compression ratio or whether I should rebuild my 283 with a higher compression ratio. I know I want to steer clear of air bags for suspension. I would prefer to have something more on the side of dependable performance. I am not new to the car scene but am new to being part of it if that makes any sense..... Any input I could get from some wise men would be appreciated. I am sure I worded something incorrectly and apologize for that but All the old timers I know are stoned or drunk and I need to get busy on this girl.
