More a Street Freak than a Gasser. (and it's for sale or trade)

First pic from 1970, my '57 in G/Modified Production class at Bakersfield. Car was later run in D/Gas with a Hilborn injected small block. Second pic is how it is today, unrestored.

I actually stumbled across the car (which had sat since the mid 1970's) in 2006 and have been slowly piecing together its history.
It was run by a husband and wife team, Ed George built the car and his wife Pat did the driving!

Picture 134.jpg Well I built everything but the body....Pretty proud of that...The boday (glass) cam from Canada. PAW...It has a blown Chevy small block in it...Tried to keep it true to sixties gassers......5.5 foot ladder bars....Drill I-beam straight axle....I welded the TH350 clutches together this summer.....Tore the tranny down & beefed it all up...Extra clutches, etc...The windows are tinted red....headlights are tinted red....Kinda looks like a pi$$ off monster coming at you.....Gasser's rule....Thanks Gasserking:)

Thanks for the kind words on the Corvair! I have actually considered pulling the blower off and going with (don't shoot me) electronic fuel injection, Weber stacks or the Mooneyes stromburg 6 pack looking setup. I know it's blasphemous, but it would be nice to be able to drive it more than 50 miles at a time. And they both have a cool vintage look.

Well, if you need a place to park that '37 I could make room in my garage but, you'll have to leave the keys with me because I'm sure I'll have to move it at least every weekend. :D

    Very, very nice!

  27. Looking to find an orange 57 Chevy my friend owned from around 72-79...Ran at Lions, OCIR and Pomona that I know of. #1140 c/g on the door. Full engine set back, 4 spd with Bieber linkage and a 57 Olds rear end. Polished 5 spokes, glass tilt front end.
It was last seen at the street races in the San Fernando Valley around 1979-80
