I had a 64 Chevy II wagon in college, mid 90s, went through a few drivetrains, ended up with a built 250, 3 seperate intake manifolds with each an individual stock rochester carb, (they were CHEEP at kragen!) cam and headers from Clifford, 194 head and 1.94/1.50 valves, backed it with a M20 wide ratio and the stock 3.08 rear. ran pretty good til I ventilated the block one night on the way to work. Then girlfriend, later wife, now ex-wife, hated it so when it blew up it went away. I have a few pics that I'll scan someday. Scrounged up some 14x5 steelies for the front and some 15x7s for the rear. The rears came off an early 80's Caprice. Wish I woulda grabbed all 4. I haven't seen any factory 15x7s since that weren't rally wheels.

Now I'm looking for an early chevy II for my son. He's 13 and mowing lawns and babysitting his siblings at every chance to make money but I've given him 2 stipulations: It must have a clear title and little to no rust. He's got a few hun saved now but these cars have gotten popular so he's probably gonna have to keep working a while longer before he can afford anything at all, much less anything decent.

I love these little cars! I've had all models, wish I still had our convertible! I've been saving a michigan car for over 30 years, hoping and collecting parts for it. Floors were rusted out of it when I drove it back in the mid 70's. I have all new floors, suspension, 292 six with a 194 head.... someday...

Have always liked these! I was sorry that Hemmings Classic Cars barely made any mention of Novas in the Chevy Special Issue several months ago! My dad bought a 1964 Nova wagon for our family back in the day, tan exterior, 3 on the tree with the straight (or is that slant?) six, we loved that car and then some drunk totaled it while it was parked.. My first car (1981) was a 1967 Nova, 2-door hardtop, non-SS, 283, 2 speed powerglide.. too bad they did not keep up the convertible past 1963, I think the 1966-67 body style would have looked great as a convertible!

My first car was a '62 Nova convert. Bought for $35.00 Yeah, 35 bucks. This was 1971 so it wasnt worth much. Dad and I put new ball joints in it and we took out the old rivets with a claw hammer and cold chisel. New sears 13'' tires were 13 dollars each and a J. C. Whitney top was put on in the driveway, Good Times. Indy

I used to have a gorgeous black '62 convertible with a red interior and white top but, I had to sell it to refinance my house after a divorce. I loved that car.

More recent, I owned a '64 Nova SS. It was a true little old ladies car with around 45,000 actual miles, even though it was SS, V8 (283) and red on red. I would probably still have it if someone wouldn't have offered me too much money.
