I have all the 4 link brackets built, waiting for the new wheels with one inch more backspacing.

thats a pretty ambitious project you got going there! i hope you document the front end when you get to it. be careful welding the unibody frame as they're galvanized and when you weld to it, it put out poisonoun fumes. grind it away first. disreagard if you know this already. also "v" out some of the butt joints and you'll get more weld in the plates you're welding and get a much stronger joint. good luck with your van project, we'll be watching your progress!

Thanks for the heads up. I did know that, but who would want to take a chance. This was supposed to be a quick, easy, shop van project that has turned into a build. Thanks again for the advice and I will keep you posted.

A HAMB group? I don't think so, but there are several internet forums... vintage-vans.com, and at least 2 Yahoo Groups (OldEconolines and EconosRUs), and probably more.

3onthetree3, good idea with the suzuki read end,. I'm sure that has to he the first time suzuki parts have ever made their way onto a cool van.

Are you thinking of starting your own build thread (or have you already, and i've missed it)?
I'd happily subscribe, it looks like you are going places with this one.

sweet! newly bagged vintages have really been popping up alot lately. everyone is going their own route in the processes too. the real challenge is making these things completely road worthy.

Hey has anyone tried using longer shackle hangers on the front? I know they work in the rear but not sure if it woulds cause a issue in the front,

if youre talking about to raise the van, thats a fairly common thing to do but blocks might even be more popular.

I know its wrong and I'll probably get spanked for saying this, I USED 4" blocks in the front and Extended the draglink 2". Drives and rides like a covered wagon. Been driving this way for four plus years. I Love it.
If you use shankles make an H shackle.
