  5. The weird part ... I'd already begun to compliment Varin-Maeus on his work.
sorry Sambo and Varin-Maeus, too, please don't confuse my lack of attention with a lack of sincerity; I really like your work, esp. the Apache!

Now for something less that Spook-tacular for the Halloween crowd...

First, a quick new sketch... (Needs something more so I'll add it later)

This one is still in the works, being colorized...

I haven't seen Corvette Bob post anything on here lately. Just wondering if everythings okay. Has anyone heard??

  13. Thanks N. Ozols! Diggin' the wagon. Enjoying the show! Get that greeting card set ready Jigger.

Put a few more touches on my dirt drag car- shockers mainly. Put Hartford/ Houdailles in the too hard basket. But they'd be a good detail to nail.

Not 100% finished but I wanted to offer something up for the FAS. Here's the "Wrench Biter" Piston knob. Tomorrow the rings and rod bushing should be finished. Great work everyone! Have a safe and great weekend!

Man where to start!? I don't want to bore anyone with lots of process details so I'll try to keep it short. If you want more detailed info I would be glad to send a PM.

I work with a laser as part of my job. Ideas are always popping into my head. All signs start as vector artwork. I use Corel Draw mostly. Illustrator works well too. I usually start with a photograph that I've have taken. I generate line work in layers based off colors, details, or how I want the sign to look when cut. Each layer is laser cut from a single sheet of masonite. The laser will cut a variety of materials - plastics, wood, thin metals. I then primer and paint parts according to the design. The parts are then assembled (overlaying layers) into a 3D sign. Seems to be my choice for creating artwork - something different.

    thanks for asking
    Joe

I really like this, it kind of reminds me of this picture my grandfather took at Sharon Speedway
