It's out! Pat Ganahl's 'Lost Hot Rods II'

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chopt 34, Oct 23, 2012.

  1. I don't know if many of you knew the sequel was in the works, but not only is it out, it is well worth the purchase. I just received my copy from Amazon. There are 11 chapters and 190 pages of great photos, and fantastic story telling by Pat Ganahl. There are many cars I remembered, many I forgot about and many I had not heard of, but they all had a great story to tell. Amazon has quite a few pages in their preview of the book, so you can get an advance screening, well...it is more like a tease. I might be a little biased, but once you see the book, you will want to buy it, it is too long of a wait for Christmas! ; )

  12. You should have it any day, I received an email on the shipping last week and it showed up exactly what they projected. Front and back covers.

When you go to Amazon and go through the preview, there are almost twice as many pictures that come up on my IPad as opposed to my Windows 7 desk top, it is strange?

I want to thank Chris for starting this thread and saying such good things about the book. Yes, it came out this week, and response has been quite positive already. I talked with Tina at Autobooks in Burbank, CA, yesterday (autobooks-aerobooks.com) and we have scheduled Saturday, Dec. 1, for a book signing at the store. By coincidence (and to my surprise/good luck) the new issue of The Rodder's Journal featuring my purple '32 Roadster and gold '50 Ford came out the same week, so I'll be signing those, too, if anybody wants. I think you can make arrangements with Autobooks to have signed copies sent to you if you can't make it to beautiful downtown Burbank that day. Besides Amazon, the book is available directly from the puiblisher at Cartechbooks.com, and it should also be in stock at all Barnes & Noble stores. Plus, since the first Lost Hot Rods sold out twice, they've just reprinted it in a semi-soft-cover version, which also came out this week, but it's a limited run of 2000 copies, so if you missed that one, get one quick before they're gone. Whew. Glad I don't have to sell these things myself. Writing them is hard enough!

    Thanks, Pat Ganahl

  17. I'll be getting it for sure! Loved the first one. I have a few of your books Pat....AND one of those videos with your son driving a Hot Rod,that you told me was pretty rare.

Did anyone out there make it out to Autobooks yesterday? Wish I was closer, I guess I will have to wait until GNRS to have you sign my book Pat! : )
