Some of you have followed my thread on my Coupe. Well the plan is coming along. I have the 32 frame and soon will pull the body off and put
    it on that frame.

That leaves me with a kick ass banger powered A frame with juice brakes,
big and littles that is reliable.

That is where the tudor comes in. I traded my way into it right and plan to pull the body off of it and sell the complete running chassis with the
tires and wheels, radiator, fenders, etc.

Chop it and mount it to my hot rod A chassis. That gives me something good to ride around in while the coupe project moves forward.

Without doing an all out poll, I am not sure how much to chop, my coupe is 4" and I kinda didn't want to go that much on this. However I just measured and realized the side window at least, opening is an inch taller than a coupe.

So I am thinking four inches. Initally I thought only 2 inches, really subtle.
But I don't think I can hold back.

    What do you guys think?

Mine was 3 1/2" and I loved the look. However, being 6' 1" seeing traffic lights was quite literally a pain in the neck. My seat was positioned pretty far back, where my head was behind the B pillar about 12". I could deal with it okay, and it was worth the extra neck workout. I'd probably do it again! :D

This one look really good, It was dirtiest devil's and he said it was chopped 4 inches. It really looked chopped less to me but that was before I realized the tudors were an inch taller.

I know this is on a deuce chassis but it really is looking goooood to me.

4" any pics of three or five's?

Nice tudor and as daddio211 said that if you are tall, and do not want to sit on the floor, and going to do some driving, I would think of a 3" chop, but if you want the best look 4" is the way to go.

Considering I have a chopped coupe, 4" and with a tudor I can get even more legroom so to speak, and knowing the tudor window opening on the doors is one inch taller than the the coupe, I think the 4 inches should work.

I am 6 foot tall but damn, I am really thinking 5". Especially if that "equates" to four inches on a coupe.

Is the inch picked up somewhere else? As in from floor to ceiling, is the tudor taller by an inch?

Thank you sir. I sat on the floor by modifying the brackets on some import bucket seats. I like my legs straight out in front of me. Still, my line of sight was about 1" below the top of the windshield frame.

Was stuck on this issue too. I had an unchopped 32 3 window in the shop and I liked the size of the window openings in that so I ended up chopping my car 2".
Ryan gets the credit for the great pic.

    Attached Files:

  11. Angle chopped: 3.5" in front and 2.5" in the rear. That's not much, but with the huge rake I have planned, my visibility is about at the limit.

This is the stance of the chassis. With possibly lowering the front an inch or so, this is how it sits.

    I am thinking 4".

I measured my tudor against the coupe. The tudor is an inch taller, if not a tad more. The subrail to door sill height is the same, it is taller from the sill to the top of the door frame.

So profile wise, it will be a tad over an inch taller than the coupe.

If anyone else has pics with measurements, feel free to post them.

Thanks for you guys that already commented.

    Here it is.

This profile shows the stance / rake of the chassis as it sits with the Coupe. Obviously the Tudor body is different but you can at least see what I will be doing. This is with modifications that I will go over later.

Well, this afternoon I ran home with my flatbed and yarded it car back to the shop.
The body came off very quick and cuts have been made.
