I have friends??? Really ???;) That'll be Randy & Yvonne - ltownrodder here on the Hamb. That black 1933 coupe of his is one of my all time favorites - funnily enough I have a real 1933 Willys roadster in the same color scheme. Glad to hear your trip went well....

Lompoc, CA, seems to be the happening place for up and coming nostalgia cars and race fans ;) Great Friday night and Saturday all day event at the Hot Rod Ranch shops attests to this and so did the booth and awesome people of Lompoc Valley Motorsports Park Project, headed by Carl Creel. Check out their site www.racelompoc.com for more info.

Many of yesterday’s gassers and hot rods gathered up at the current ranch shop on Friday night, 10/12/12, from where they caravanned to the Chili Chowdown car show where the locals united with the bench racers for some fun times of talking, music and food. Saturday was even more elaborate with continuation of even more cars, even better food and the best of times at the Hot Rod Ranch Crib J

There were so many beautiful cars and people; but, for time and space sake, here are just a few of the overview and some of our friends who were there with us ;)

  10. Hey Hemiaaron, we came up with a new name for your Willys on saturday night. One of the guys hanging out (Tim), had had a few to many cocktails and was talking about your lady friend "working the hula hoop", only he tripped on his own words and said
"hula coupe"! We all laughed (at him) and said what a bitchen name for your car! So now many of us will be refering to your car as "The Hula Coupe"

  12. Welcome to the H.A.M.B. Aaron. Hemiaaron is a friend of mine who sold me the 37 sedan that made it possible for me to build my coupe.

He was a customer of mine back before the H.A.M.B. was a twinkle in Ryan's eye. That was his Hemi powered coupe, recently sold.

Here is Aaron's current car, 39 coupe that gets driven all over....

Same with the birth our grandchildren also happening in March (Gina's son & his wife are expecting TWINS) so if the timing is right maybe we can hook-up with you guys.

With our cruising season coming to an end here in southwestern Pennsylvania it's tough seeing you SoCal guys still TCB.

Lompoc looks like a great place for hot rodders to gather.... got tired of sitting in parking lots a long time ago. Like sitting on an asphalt frying pan.

Places like Lompoc make for a more enjoyable time. So if the timing is right maybe we'll see you there in March or .....?????

  27. Thanks ME.GASSER, i got it in '77 just after i turned 18, did the mechanicat stuff and got a bit of panel work done with new paint and drove it for nine years as my only driver clocking up 70K. Got a bit worn out so parked it up in '86. When i finish my '26 T rpu im going to get it back on the road and then my '35 thats been waiting since '81, can't rush these things.JW

Here's something you don't see very often, a stock pickup. I shot this at the Gathering of the Faithful show in Rochester this past weekend.
