History Auto racing 1894-1942

This is one of two photos of the same Cameron racing car we have posted on TheOldMotor.com. Check them both out and if you have and info on them please be sure to let us know.

 

My guess is early 1932 and 'Uncle' is preparing his Miller Spl. for his Mobil Oil funded Land Speed Run on a circular course at Muroc Dry lake in Sep, 1932.
Is that a new fangeled Miller 200 4 cylinder being tested in place of the straight 8?

I recall somewhere seeing a photo of his wife Marion in this car outside a Hollywood Movie Studio. The caption read something to the effect that 'July, 1932 Marion had just turned 120mph laps in the car at Muroc.'

Anyone know the history of this car?

 

The car below was posted on another forum and the person who posted it says it was claimed to be a "documented real racer". Photo was taken at Sears Point so I assume it might reside on the west coast. Has anyone seen this car or know anything about it?

 

Soft spot for these Bob tail Ts, here go some more, all my admiration for those intrepid drivers.

Bob I think it was a style.

And construction ease. The hood and cowl are simple curves

 

If I remember correctly, Gerber also talked about how the bobtails rounded the turns better/had more control (the cars with tails tended to slide more).

1915 peacoat and period hair-doo.

 

We have had this photo on The Old Motor for quite some time and would like to ID the racing car in the background. The location is what was referred to as the Cliff House Beach, in San Francisco. Below is a Lozier speedster which may have been photographed on the same day.

 

The shot is at SF, most likely '15 when the San Francisco Grand Prize was run during the Pan Pacific Exposition. I think #7 was (is) the indy National, though the car in the race driven by Lou Gandy was called an "Edwards".

Here is a group of bob tailed Ts and the odd Hudson from Argentina..

 

That Hudson is really nice, but I'm thinking that there are more "As" than "Ts" in that group.

Oh, like mounting a horse. I get that. That is, unless your inline engine's exhaust pipes exit from the left side of the vehicle.
