  16. Congrats on finding the spots. I wish I could find a pattern for my truck for mine as I am having a bitch of a time trying to get them mounted. Really nice work so far!

One less competitor for spotlights! Please take careful/detailed pictures of how the spot lights mount and if you have any issues, my Olds has the same body shell and I'd like to see how yours mount before I mount mine. Details that make or break!

    Keep up the good work.

Got the trailer hitch off... the bolts were halfway ground off from dragging on things.. so it was quite the ordeal.

The plate is mounted too high, it will be fixed.

  20. Black? You are either a glutton for punishment or unbelievably ambitious:D I wouldn't want to do the body work required to paint a car Black but good on you if you do it would look killer.

Thanks, the 46 has always been my favorite!

Its been kept a secret in the Facebook and Instagram world ;)

Thanks man! Good to hear from you. And you got that right, no chance of this car being trailered anywhere, no matter how nice it gets!

Haha yes, I have finally found a pair. Who knows, someday maybe I'll go even more mental and HAVE to get a pair of 552s.. I'll post plenty of pictures of the whole process.

Yes sir! Working on these cars definately keeps me out of trouble :D

I know.. I don't know why I feel the need to go black.. but at this point...
Maybe I'll change my mind and go with a dark red like the Matranga Merc, or a dark green. Either way, It wont be anything but dark!!

This car is one of my main inspirations.
He kept the side trim, rocker trim, and stock grille.
Obviously mine wont have a carson top, but the general feel of this car is what I'm going for. I love the WIDE whites and elegant stance and appearance. This car is perfect, in my opinion.

I want a car that looks like it could have belonged to this guy..

...because to me, thats what customizing a car is all about. Making a Ford look like a Packard - building the car of a rich man on a union worker's budget.

Awesome job on the '46 so far! Great car and a very entertaining thread. Driving it while you are building on it has to be a lot of fun too. Keep up the good work and the posts!
