    What a great car collection!

But as soon as you said "BBQ" I started drooling so I'm off to find some.

He appears to have a thing for Galaxie 500s. He has a bunch of them!

  11. Thanks for the great pictures. Love his collection of star liners.I talked to George a few years ago, real down to earth car guy. Seen the camel toe starliner Bonneville car. I believe it is a 200 mph club car.

Dang, he's got neat stuff. I've always liked watching him in Bonneville and I really dig how he supports so many different shops with his builds. Quite a guy.

Awesome stuff! The man has great taste in cars. Nothing better than a black Galaxie, except maybe the gold 40 pickup!!

It was a very cool event. In addition to the car collection and the BBQ, the crew that made the Speed Demon 439mph record possible were there (Ron Main, Kenny Duttweiler and others).

I will admit I do not know this man. But I noticed a lot of dual pot master cylinders on the pre 67 cars. So I assume he drives a lot of these cars. I seen a ice cream maker like that in Owensboro this summer I think also.

I remember about 8 or 9 years ago I recognized the name Poteet in an article in Street Rodder, so I started skimming through my other magazines. With in 2 days I found at least 10 cars in my various mags being built by George at multiple shops around the US. The man has great taste, his cars are very classy. He picks top builders and lets them have free reign to exercize their skill. Theres something to be said for that!

  21. Flipper,

I'm glad you saw the flyer I posted. Next time I'll use the title "Free Eats."

This coupe belongs to my good friend Dick Valenzuela. He is originally from Whittier, CA and has owned it since he was 14. He is in his 70s now. Do the math.

I made the trip with him. On the way home the motor, a recently installed junk yard (but good!) 302 died. Main bearings and who knows what else. Even so, a great day and a memorable hot rod experience.
