Looks like 5 1/2" front and 6" rear.

And the front tires are 72" from outside tread to outside tread, forget to send that to you the other day.

  3. Had me a setback this morning, my head is still ringing a bit.

I am going to do my best to reset the front clip for ride height and start drawing up the new frame horns.

Of course she hit you-that truck is hard to see-it just blends into the scenery.

    Dammit Steve.

    That looks pretty bad.

Looks like everything is bowed in and tweaked.

    Are you OK?

Damn! Bad luck is following you! Just nice to know it's not on my back at this point...Didn't mean to give it to you though!
Sounds like it's time to dig up my "stupidest automotive superstitions" thread and once again explain the cracked left headlight deal!

There ya go - publicly expose the culprit! Sorry to hear of your misfortune - whiplash is a bear. I sure hope you're okay. I was just rereading my medical history yesterday from 1995 when some kid barreled into me when I was stopped at a traffic signal in my '58 Chrysler. I still suffer from that 17 years later. Yeah I bet she was either texting or yakking. 'Driver inattention'....

That's a testament to a very well built truck. Glad you're okay Steve, take it easy 'til the soreness wears off, and a few days after that so you don't reinjure yourself.

  12. Just spoke with the owner this morning about ride heights, go low he said!

My head still hurts a bit. The push now is to draw up the frame rails for the front and lock the IFS in. I am going to try and reuse the Jaguar rubber mounts instead of welding the clip into the chassis.

    Ditto.

  14. Nice! So are you planning to keep the cradle in the back too?

Glad you were't hurt bad, I'll be watching this one as I have ben interested in a swap like this for a while now.

  16. Thank you, and yes I am going to try and keep the cradles rubber mounted. The front will be easy to pull off, the rear maybe not so much. I haven't done much other than a cursory measurement to find that the Olds frame is a few inches narrower than the rubber bushing mounts on the Jag cage.

    I have some ideas though.

I tried to keep the rear cage but it ended up being easier without it, though if you pull it off I may just put the XJ12 rear I have in. LOL, it's still sitting there in it's cage.

  18. I'm planning on hard mounting the rear but not the front.
But, I don't want to have any weird handling issues due to not being consistent.
I'm a measure 3 times cut once, so going slow.
Thanks to you and Scott for putting all this info here.

    I daily work on these....

I just figured it was C4/C5 until you asked... now I'm intrigued as well. Looks much smaller than a Vette!

  21. Certainly not HAMB appropriate, but how I make my money to buy taildragger parts. ;)
It would be sweet under a sledded Volvo 544, and handle wicked.

    Its a '94 Mazda Miata

  22. Looks like a Mazda Miata drive train. In the right car that could be pretty fun.

  23. LOL, slow on the trigger. Didn't flip to the next page.

  24. What's interesting about the shot you provided, was how it reminded me of an early C4 Corvette drivetrain.

  29. Any progress on this project?

  30. Just a little, been hectic as you would expect.

I know it doesn't look like much, but this has taken a few hours to locate everything and draw in the critical locations of things. I really want to spend a few hours to create a the XJ6 IFS in Alibre' for future builds, and if I can squeeze it it I will. But for now the front and rear rubber bushings are accounted for and in place as well as the body mounts and front bumper brace.

Working on the rails of the stub right now.
