I posted that I was looking for trim for my 1948 Pontiac and I got a response from someone in the UK. He says he has trim, took pics and will ship to me. He wants me to pay with Western Union. His emails have that scam smell to them. I was hoping someone in the UK can help me out. Anyone out there? I would appreciate any help or advise.

You might as well just lift the toilet seat and dump all the money you were going to send this guy in, then flush it. The result will be the same and will be less stress on you.

    Yes, it is a scam.

Hmmm. Rare Pontiac parts in the UK? Yeah, I'd be skeptical too.

Yea if you want to F_ _ _ _ with him tell him to send the part first and you'll send the money after you get it - tell him honestly that you will and see what happens.

    Seriously

DO NOT - DO NOT - DO NOT - HEAR ME ? DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

As a matter of fact please forward his PM to you to me or send me his HAMB name please right away by PM.

WESTERN UNION = SCAM and oh by the way - he's not even in the UK - he's in Nigeria.

Need anymore info ? You send it - you won't get one thing except poorer.

    Yea - it's scam.

Send me a private message of the PM copies please.

    Thanks,

And his HAMB name was what ?

You guys need to report the HAMB names used, so we can try to stay on top of these and bann then ASAP of these fly by nights who pull this shit.

ULTIMATELY - you are at your own risk with ALL transactions.

UK - Western Union - SCAM GUYS........ NOT IN THE UK - He's in Niggeria

Sorry legit British friends but this guy has giving any transactions from the UK - Western Union a bad name.

    It’s a scam...
I don’t know anyone in the UK that uses Western Union it's not that common over here.
If anyone does want stuff from the UK I'm more than happy to help out check stuff for you etc

  15. Ah hell Don he could send me the money and I won't send him anything either. ;)

So while I got everyone's attention this is your last chance to send a buck to the 'beaner.

To the OP does he have a physical adress? Why not post it for us, last one I cheched out was actually a piller between two buildings. :D

    Cob,
I don't think that the UKs guys take it personal from us. If I recall on one of the newer threads they suggested things to watch for and to have a UK guy check it out before you send money. The real deal guys are a standup bunch of fellas, and can rprobably hold there own in a drunken brawl, which wins them lots of points with the 'beaner. ;)

Beaner is right, this has nothing to do with the UK or our many friends there, it just happens to be where these idiots sometimes say they are from. If anyone watched some of the Dateline exposes' on these kinds of scams they know a lot of this stuff comes from guys who sit in internet cafes all day long in some 3rd world country, and just say they are from places like the UK to gain credibility.

As for the Western Union thing, I wonder if Paypal is any safer ? I know the UK has Paypal because Langy has sent me money that way for parts we have shipped him.

Some of these jerks that do these scams are surprisingly cleaver. They will dig up pictures somewhere of parts and cars and send those to you proporting those are parts they have in hand. I have seen posts where a guy said he saw his own car being used in a picture and being "sold" by one of these guys.
