I guess you could weld nuts in the frame before you put on the boxing plates?

I made access holes in the boxing plate... enough to get my fingers in and start the bolts and get a wrench in to tighten...

I thought about that but wondering if bolts would need much wiggle room like a captive nut.

+1. Used a hole saw and put the hole at the top edge of the inboard side.

i welded a 1/2 in. plate and then drilled and tapped the plate.

  9. I have drilled access holes and drilled and tapped the frame in areas that didn't allow holes. HRP

Use a step drill to chamfer the hole,... use a flange nut and drop it in the hole upside down..... weld it up......

Or weld nuts into place before you weld in the boxing plates.....

This thread gives me hope... I thought I might be the only one who excitedly boxed my Model A frame, and then realized I hadn't given much forethought to mounting holes and accessing them!

I just made 6 simple brackets on the inner frame rails. I also used swag bar bushings as body bushings. Kind of hard to see in the pic but it is all I have.

    X3.

Worked great for my RPU. I then poked holes in rubber strips for padding under the body.
