if i said i found this deep in the woods at the old city dump site and repainted it, would yall believe me ?............................ i didnt think so. any way, i will eventually make it into a cooler/ trailor. and by the way, my grandaddy bought this freezer new in 1949. my dad gave it to me. it ran great until a few yrs ago. then it just got in the way, and i refused to through it away.

I remember when my grand daddy loaded up the Studebaker covered wagon and put one of those coolers in it to head west in the late 1800's. They hauled everything from Buffalo meat to white lightning in it. His ran on methane gas from buffalo chips and horse shit. Our family always did shovel a lot of horse shit.
I didn't say I went with them when they went out west. I read all this in our family albums. I also remember my great grand dad's Studebaker wheelbarrow. I think it was a bullet nose. Check the history books if you don't believe me. Here in central Florida those soda cooler trailers and coffins were popular for years. Don't see them anymore. I did find an old metal Coke cooler in the Smokeys one year. Like a fool I gave it to some cute gals camped near us.
Just saw one of those today at a flea market. Unfortunatly, someone had cut it up to make a two seater love seat thing. Different.
If it sells for less than $3 a gallon and can be left in a carburator all winter I'm in. He'd just end up painting signs on them goats and selling them to farmers to advertise things .
Reminds me of a time in the late 60s, can't recall the name of the mag, but it was like a comic type book, and the "star"(haha) rode a "Webley Vickers" motorcycle. My brother was a "fan" and one "special" issue had foldout full size Webley Vickers insignias for your motorcycle tank. Before long my brother had pulled the tank off his Honda 350, and sheelacked them suckers on his bike! No longer a Honda, it was now a Webley Vickers
I had one Just Like I!! 'cept mine was all white and said westinghouse on it with just a dash of red paint spilt on the lid, which just happened to be the same 'barn door' paint that the barn door had on it. .. .
I have an old military surplus cooler that my grandfather carried his welding rods in. I for sime reason cant figure out how to up load pics. It is stamped aluminum and has fasteners like an old ammo can. But its off topic because it has raised numbers with the date 1967 on it.
