Looks like he's off to a great start. Looks like it will have nice proportions.

Bill Fitting, Nevada City, CA, built this 2 Door and raced it until (if my memory is correct) he drove over his own water and wadded it up. I will put more pics over on modern nostalgia race cars thread.

That is the best 2 door conversion on a Model 77 Willys sedan I have seen. The doors must have been lengthened at least 4" judging by the photo. If your going to do it, that is how it should be done....

Another 2 Door, this one a '34, body by Larry Pettit (RIP) for Dick Willetts, Vegas (RIP). Driven to Pueblo and Denver in 94 and on all the tours. Traded to Bill Gordon (RIP)Lakewood, CO, for the family's cool blue Austin. Painted in Denver. Sold to Carol and Richard Laffins, Chico, CA, then to Gary and Elaine Pulley, Texas, where it might still live.

Not very good shots of a beautiful steel 33 which at this time was owned by Pat Cummings in Fort Worth, TX. As nice as it looks. wbrw32 tells me this body came from
    Ronnie Mitchell.

Very nice 33 owned by John Draughn, Virginia. Was Candy Red and owned by Charlie Oneill, CA, sold at Pomona Swap Meet, Clyde Majors of Carrollton,TX then Smiley Sitton, Duncanville, TX. I really wanted this one.

The Phantom was owned by Matt Steiner from Wyoming,MI. (in 95) This car ran STRONG with Big Block power at a nostalgia event held in Stanton, MI. I seem to remember something about a Logghe chassis and I do remember it going straight. Impressive. That MAY be a fiberglass Willys 99 front.

So is mine. You may not know that Willys was having difficulty selling the supercharged hemi "standard" models in 33, so offered the "deluxe" model you see here. Sales picked up. In later years "standard" models gained popularity. Pretty sure this one was owned by Ken Patterson, Muscle Shoals, AL. I think photo is from Indy Willys Showdown, also sponsored by Ida Automotive. Thanks.

This is a pretty recognizable street rod, originally built for Don Decker. It graced the cover of a HowTo wiring book and was Top 20 at WGC in Denver in 94, while owned by Ken Patterson from Muscle Shoals, AL. SBC Power, matching graphic interior; impressive car. On trailer for Indy Willys Showdown and sort of in the staging lanes at Bandimere. Current info?

Mel Bryson' pics of Bill Fitting's steel coupe circa '82-3. Photos shot downtown Grass Valley, CA. It may not look the same, but I think he still owns this car. Pics of his race cars can be seen above and on modern nostalgia cars thread. Also see aasupercharged.net website.

IMG_0017.jpg IMG_0015.jpg IMG_0016.jpg Here is a Sequim, Washington based coupe that gets driven. Wayne Stephens has owned this car for years. He painted it blue and did a bunch of upgrades, if you can believe this, "to make it more driveable". Not sure that is possible, as much as he drove it. Real rodder. Car is For Sale.

Ida Automotive sponsored Willys Roundups and Showdowns. Here are a couple of their bodies. Bob's is shown in gel coat. Rob built one called Creamsicle.

Bill Fitting's Wilys was one of a pair that got me infected with the dreaded 'W77' virus - no known cure. I would love to see that '33 again. Here is my original shot of it and a near twin (posted earlier in this thread) either at Merced or San Jose ca 1980....
