I threw this video together last week mostly from pictures I borrowed from the HAMB.
    Tell me what you think.

Feb. 21, 1957: James F. Regan, a firefighter, climbed an aerial ladder to reach a fire hose, during a five-alarm fire at Spring and Greene Streets. The five-story brick building contained large quantities of baled textile remnants. According to a Times article after the fire, Fire Commissioner Edward F. Cavanagh Jr. said the waste baling industry in Lower Manhattan had a “dangerous, shabby style of poor housekeeping.” He also cited the “careless” stockpiling in the building, advising businesses in the area to implement “housekeeping” practices to avoid another fire. I don't know why the old expression, "In Like Flynn," didn't cite Uncle Milty instead.
Phil Silvers once wisecracked to Berle: "You better feed that thing, it's liable to turn on
you!" :p Though Berle obviously wasn't ashamed of his wide reputation for prowess
with the ladies, Milty saw humor in everything in life. Prior to becoming a happily
married man and a dad, he had a long list of celebrity galfriends, pretty legendary
among folk in the entertainment business. For a bunch of belly laughs, read the whole
    story at the link.

Well, I noticed the MM pic with Milty didn't show after a while,
    so we'll try this one.

Another damzel in the clutches of Mister Television! Looks like
Bette Davis to me, so Milty had better watch his step there!
Bette could take care of herself, folks. Pic thanks to FanPix!

Was wondering if someone has pictures to post of the Westside Highway from the 40's, 50's and 60's in New York City.

That is the Normandy. It caught fire in New York and capsized due to the water pumped in fighting the fire. It was being converted to a troop ship. It was probably the most beautiful ship ever.

This looks like the west approach to Zion National Park in Utah. The road is still 2 lane, but much wider now. Obscured by the vegetation at the base of the mesa below the Needles is the ghost town of Grafton where part of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was filmed.
