Hats Off to the Ladies of Drag Racing

Met Melanie Troxel a few years back at the winternationals in Pomona. As soon as my daughter saw her she said "Girls do this too?", I said "Yeah, why wouldn't they?" And she fell in love with Melanie. Melanie talked to her for a few and took a pic with her. One of my daughters prized possessions. I don't have to beg her to go to the races with me at all. Her 13th b-day present is going to Pomona on Sunday to see the finals.

3 boys and my girl is the only one that will go to the races with me.

 

Hat's off to all of the Lady's of racing.

Actually she did more than testing, she drove Larry Frazier's T/F in the early 90's at the gator nationals. I think she went a round or 2.

In 94 we where pitted next to a car from Europe, her name was Vivet Avarstat, I'm sure I didn't spell that rite, She was good driver and looked as good as she drove. JC

I love Shirley Muldowney because she did it back before people were opinion polled, packaged and marketed like laundry soap, and she did it because she wanted to be the best. How quaint.
Why do we think that the economy should be real when everything else around us is fake? End of geezer rant.

Thanks for remembering my beautiful and talented mother, Judi Boertman.

Kim Lahaie/Richards swings a pretty mean wrench.

I believe Barb Hamilton also built and did the maintainance on her Willys Gasser.

 

Yes, i would say Kim LaHaie is probably the best in the bunch (in my opinion) because she actually works on the engine. And i'm not at all ashamed to say i could probably learn alot from her.
