Hell I dont even have a roadster but I stripped a couch and rolled up all that nice broken in leather with the same thing in mind. Nice work, it looks right at home in there.
Coolio. Thanks for the explanation. I stripped a bone colored leather couch earlier this year for my T. Maybe I'll try to wash a little piece. Your interior looks fantastic by the way.
Thanks, it'll do for now. You going to The World Famous Swindlers poker run Saturday? Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
Great idea, well done! Leather needs some oils to remain supple and not crack. Any ideas to replace those oils? Lanolin, neatsfoot oil maybe...... It will soak 'em up like a sponge.
Shoot, I never thought of cheap old couches for leather!! This thread made me feel dumb but later I will feel like a genius when I snap up some horrible off-white couch for the hide. Thank you, sir!!
Oh man, Paul you knocked another one out of the park! I really appreciate the cleaning advice and it's nice to know that one couch will do the whole car.

Yes it will get something, haven't decide exactly what yet Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
Way neat ingenuity. Do you have any left over? Your creeper and mechanics stool would look posh with this stuff. Saddle shops may have some application for replenishing the 'hide.
Go to Tandy or the hardware store and buy LEXOL, leather loves it. http://lexol.com/product_leather_conditioner.aspx In fact, Lexol works so well you could skip the washing phase. I have seen some SHELLED seats come out loooking new.
Lexol works but is mutiple steps and smells nasty. I use Leather CPR - wipe on - wipe off - it's what came with my Katzkin leather seats in my newer truck. I treat the seats with it every 90 days.
Years ago ,I did an old Mk2 Jag red leather interior "Refurbish" with Nugget [shoe polish ] and a shit load of elbow grease. It looked aged yet new [ as if it had been in storage for years ] I sat on an old bedsheet for a week , just in case I got nugget residue all over my clothes. but it was OK. It is HARD WORK this way but remember they are only original once
Great Idea! Thanks! I'll bet we won't be able to find any leather couches at all NOW! Over a million HAMBer's out there!
Great idea! Shame the divorce settlement is going to cost more than shipping the car to LA and having it done in Italian glove quality chupacabrahyde sewn by Tony Nancy's ghost... I think she's going to get the car and you're going to get the remains of the couch...
