Features If you could paint this car any color...

Any color as long as its black.

 

A good friend of mine has a '55 Victoria that is grey primer on the bottom and white primer on the top. He plans on shooting it gun-metal grey and snow-shoe white. I love the 2-tone look, it really sets off the body lines.

 

Black & Red, thats a very cool car!

 

Dark, dark blue, so dark it looks black and most people will think it's black unless you're in bright sun (1947 Ford Barcelona blue, for example)

Just looked at the color chart above, and would suggest '56 Ford Nocturne Blue, another very dark blue

 

Pearl White top , Pearl white Hood and main body deep purple almost an eggplant color

 

Black or black and white with painted wheels.Wheels black with little hubcaps.

 

The black and red for that year is called Fiesta Red and Raven Black. My dad bought one new in '56 and then we recreated on in '84 and won several trophies at all the local shows.

 

Really? Isn't this a bit silly? What color do YOU like? That's the only question. Plus, maybe consider the skills of the painter and the cost of paint. Red,some greens, will set you back a whole lot more than some other colors. Were there any suggestions here that made you change your mind?

 

Black or B/W is a great combo.
However, if you spend some time in the Watson Personal Photo Collection thread, it opens up all sorts of possibilities.
I'd like to see a Pearl Gold top with a metallic Root Beer bottom.

Honestly, yes it does help. But also, just curious how different the car's colors could turn out in the hands of someone else.

I will be doing all body and paint. Paint price is not a problem (except say 10k a quart). That being said, it will be modestly priced paint, and a whole lotta love and sanding.

 

Cream with the mid section Black...

 

It's gotta be really dark, blue, green or black, solid, no 2 tone to get the aggressive look you're describing. Leave the stock trim bright as an excellent accent.

Here I am 3 pages late, but I'd do a black top and bottom, with Coral Mist above the chrome body line. B & W interior......one of my favorite paint schemes on a favorite car!

If you want it to look tough you GOTTA paint it all one color! My Dad had a really nice '56 back around 1980 that was painted '66 T-bird maroon. It looked really good, kind of hot-roddy. Then he two-toned it by adding '56 Ford off-white and all the sudden it looked all prissy and sissy. No one took it seriously, even with the 66 T-bird 390 under the hood.

Personally, I'd go all black, but any dark color would look good.

 

If you really love this car, as you are working on it, it will tell you the right color
