The wife and I flew down to So Cal to attend Wavecrest in the town of Encinitas. For those not aware, this is the largest gathering of woodies in the world. The town is overrun with wood. Thursday kicked off with a Cruise called Rods and Woodies downtown. Some nice rides show up and the woodies were out early. Found a small bar downtown flying the UW flag (my college) so we spent some time in there drinking beer in the window and watching cars.

For Friday I had planned to attend a cruise night in Escondito called Cruisin Grand. It was hot, about 108.. maybe that impacted the cruise as not much cruisin and the number of cars was light.

Saturday was Wavecrest. Weather was perfect and the turnout was great. Ran into a friend from SC and our own Sawzall (jeff). by the end of the day (hope he will add some of his pictures to this post or his own)

Links to all of my pictures of the three events are below

First are a few pictures from the cruise nights

Can anybody identify this one for me please, I'm fascinated by woodies, they are very, rare in the UK apart from the Morris Minor.

Yes that was a pontiac (1946?). Sawzall will probably know the exact year.
