Fad? Don't go in for fads man. Think of a scheme and go with it, and avoid the 80's.

who cares about the color, your car has a mouse motor and that's good enough in my book.

Real Chevy engines were orange back in the good ole days. Either Chevy orange or body color would look nice.

  6. Saw a few white ones lately that looked fantastic. Bit of a commitment though.

I think engines should be the same color as the interior, but that's just me, I'm a girl and I'm matchy like that... :D

A nice Tartan plaid goes with almost everything. But it's a bitch to mask.

And the foam air cleaner element and matching oil breather should match the interior....Unless the interior is Pink, then white makes a good filter color.
After mid 77 Chevy orange became Ford blue!!!!

I'm with Flatheadguy. You're gonna need a little extra time to mask.

so what is the rest of the build style? There are so many choices/ways to go. A custom, in my mind, should not have an Orange engine, unless the rest of the car has a Orange theme.
if it has a pearl white interior, then pearl white the engine, Dark and evil looking? should have a black and tough engine, flat black and red wheels, then a red engine, etc...

  21. Seriously!

You have to go with what everybody else is doing?!?!

Sorry man, I can't help you out with this one. I haven't stuck my head out the window today!

You see a lot of copper colored engines lately. It looks pretty sharp but I'd do a color theme like match the engine, seats and pinstripes. Or Chevy orange. Or both :D

I figured I'd get more "Ford Guy" complaints. Personally I like all old cars and all old engines.

I'm still with GM orange on the Merc. like post #26

I really dig bronze/gold as a "traditional" custom colour myself. I've seen some very cool deep burgundy engines too that have a real old time feel to them. I guess it really depends on the style your looking for.

This is a winner ! Better than red and white checks or black and white chekered. Add a meter on the dash and charge people to ride!
