This custom corvette showed up at a local show this weekend . I usually dont like custom covettes but thought this one was neat .
I saw this car a few weeks ago while getting a burger at Tripple-X. At first I was aghast. Then, when I started looking at it, I kinda warmed up to it. I think with a little tweaking (period-correct steering wheel, antenna, loose the third brake light, etc.) it really could be spectacular.
I like it. That car has to have some history. No one in their right mind would do that now. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
If it's still the same guy who owns it now as when I spoke to him at Tastin' & Racin' at Lake Sammamish a few years ago... IIRC, the backstory was he inherited it from his grandfather who had modified the car a good number of years ago.
I don't hate it, but I hope it's not an original fuelie. Hard to see what's going on with the back from the color and angle.
Would look better if he would make up his mind if he wanted a hot rod or custom.. white letters and mags on a full custom? It just doesnt look right Chrome steelies with spider caps and some medium bias whitewalls would make it make a lot more sense. Put the original steering wheel back in and you'd probably have what looked like a 60s wild show custom. Im not a big fan of it, but it would still look a lot better.
I like it, but I agree that the Radial T/A tires and gay steering wheel pretty much ruin it. A set of redlines and a Superior 500 wheel (or a stock one) would make this a pretty aggressive looking custom. I'd like to see what this looked like the day it was built.
I love to see custom Vettes and tri-5 Chevys, just because it makes me think about all the guys who are into those cars, getting severely bent out of shape when THEY see them.
Imo anyone that likes that has done way too much acid at some time in their life. Apparently I did not not do enough.
Well I have seen some custom Corvettes over the years some I like real well but this one is a little over the top for me. That is not to say that there is anything wrong with it it is just too much for me.
If they would have sectioned some of the height out of the Rivi lights and raised the grill opening accordingly, I think it would have been pretty sweet. I do like the taillights - or at least, the rear fenders look good with no lights in them.
I like it a lot. Paint it a pearlescent pastel, drop it some, and put it on chrome reverse with pinner whites. There is a lot of nice work there that's getting lost with the black paint and 70s wheel combo.
never have i told someone i dont like their car, atleast i dont remember doing it.but this time i gotta say it.ouch. just my opinion guys but that thing is ugly.
