You did a great job with the Junior car, so I know this is going to be a good story to follow.

There was a little toggle switch that operated them.

  3. I have read that guys installed them in their cars so when they were getting lucky they would turn the red light on and that would let others know not to disturb the action.

I can't believe how nice those floors are for a North East car. Even with the other rust in the rockers, this thing is really solid by NJ/PA standards. I had spoken to you briefly when you had the Shoebox at the GNRS. I'm looking forward to following this build.

The rear lower body panel is pretty decent. It needs some of the outer lip replaced. This is not a very good shot.

    FIRST THINGS FIRST
One of the things that I keep hearing from Jesse is about the primitive tools that they had to use back in the day, and how easy we got it. I guess there needs to be something said about all the kinds of tools that are available these days. JESSE, I HEREBY, OFFICIALLY APOLOGISE. Oh… and this, I AINT GOIN’ BACK.

One of the fascinating things about this car is that there are no color pictures of it. I'm sayin' at this point that the color in this picture isn't correct.

WOW!!! This is a thread I will follow closely! I have similar plans for my '41, even though it's a business coupe. I'm calling it "inspired by"... Got the Caddy grille and the flipper caps, deviations will be a Crestliner steering wheel, '41 Packard tail lights and most likely a '51 Ford dash.
Jesse Lopez' coupe has been my favorite since the late seventies, I was like 14 years old back then. It will be amazing to see it being cloned, and I know you will do it right.

Here's all the non-exhaust related un save able sheet metal. This is all from the L side except for the trunk piece and R ¼.
I kept thinking well, I can splice/butt weld here and save that etc. In the end it all had to go.

Hey, I had those in my high school car! It was kind of a cool subtle affect when parked out at 'the swamp' at night - faint red glow inside - just enough to see what you are up to ;) not crazy bright like the neon today.
Forgot all about them til I saw this.

I am so glad you are cloning one of my very favorite cars of all time. This is going to be great!

As I post this pic I'm being reminded of going to the downtown Seattle stiptease clubs in the early sixties.

The more that comes off, the less you like what you see?
