On the way back from the Vintiques car show last weekend in Watertown SD, I passed through the small town of Madison Minnesota. On the main drag was this cool old Skelly station that was just on display. I guess it is owned by the local funeral parlor for some reason. The amazing thing that it has all the great Skelly memorabilia that no one messes with. It made me feel good that somewhere in America you can go and no one messes with your stuff .....

A great photo opportunity for the roadster. I filled 'er up with Ethyl :)

Was there a rubber hose at the pumps that went ding-ding:D

    Very cool stuff ..

  3. Hope you don't mind my messing with your photo but it was too good to pass up. There was nothing in the picture that gives away the fact that it was shot recently.

You found a real gem there. Thanks for passing it along! :D

There is a late model car that shows up between the pumps that ruin a vintage look but a cool picture any way.

There is a really neat restored DX station in Clinton, Missouri just off the town square. Love to see the inside - it's chock full of old cans, signs, etc.

There is also an old Desoto/Plymouth dealership building in Clinton a guy fixed up and stores some of his old cars in.

That's cool, and if Ethyl runs out, get Mabel! (Always loved that line from Groucho, but cant remember which film it was from lol.)

I have family in Sisseton, SD, (a ways north of Watertown), may have to cut further south next time I go visiting.

Never mind the newer car in the background. How about some more pictures of your car...........and maybe a little information about it. If I owned it you'd have to get "in motion" shots 'cause i'd be driving the wheels off it.

Cool pic! I worked at a Skelly station, one summer in about '73. It wasn't that old, more of a 60's station. It's getting harder to find a good photo opportunity, that was a great find there.

    Frank,

I do drive the wheels off of it :) I drive to work quite often at 50 miles/day.

I bought the roadster from Hamber Titus 3 years ago. It's an all steel car that he put together from 2 roadster carcasses. I basically finished where he left off. I did the body work, wired the car, new fuel system, chopped the top. Titus' wife Hamber Stichbitch did the interior and top for me.

It has a rebuilt 8BA with a Merc crank, 2 94s, C4 tranny, and an 8 inch rear. runs like a top. Drove it 500 miles last weekend and got 20 mpg.
