My Dad had a Texaco gas station in the 1970`s and I want to put a vintage Texaco logo on the door of my truck. Can someone with photoshop skills do me the favor and place the logo on the door, for inspiration?
there s a photoshop thread.. i think on the first page right now.. id try there.. they are pretty quick! cool idea by the way!
Okay, get yerself some imitation gold, red, dark green, and black one shot. An old overhead projector from some school sale. Some transparencies for the printer, and then a JPG file of the logo. Get ya a couple of decent brushes then you're bout ready... Use your favorite imaging software to make the logo large enough to print, I use Irfanview its free, then print the transparency. Put it, the transparency, on the projector, move the projector around forward or backward to get the right size, then go around marking all of the lines with a omnichrome, or stabilo, being careful to stay out of the image so you can see what you are trying to trace. Turn off the projector once in a while to make sure you got every line, then paint in the colors like a color book. Take your time and it'll surprise you how well it will come out. Sign guys been doin it like that for years. Least this one has... Secret Tricks out. Least ways the way those of us what can't draw for shit do it.. Enjoy.. Vondad PS. You can do it..
I tried to keep some of the streaking from the door on the logo oops...sorry about the double post; not sure what I did wrong.
Thanks everyone. This is great. I am going to surprise my Mom when I get this done. My Dad died suddenly in 1993. He would have loved my truck.
Thought. I put a logo on the door of an old truck.. oooh...25 or 30 years ago as a gag. I painted the door white and then logoed it . If you did that on your truck, you could weather the logo and door together. Might look more authentic. Not that I condone Fauxtina, but it would be cool given the circumstances.
