Here is my first run, did well. When I shifted into 2nd it hesitated... a foreshadow of it not working on the second run.

The sight and sound is enough to where if I squint, I can imagen that its Irwindale '69 or '70; the last time I saw the car run. Very nice effort on all involved.

    Thanks!

It was a great run! We ran our buddy Don Edward with his RED 4 banger tempest. It used to run a flathead v8 and the last time the Doll ran his car was mid 70's!

Hey Dimitri, What does it run in the 1/8? I have a friend that has about the same FED that I built the flathead for. We do run a manual transmission out of an old econoline. I guess I just want to know if we are even close. Here is a link to a video a guy shot with his phone at an 1/8 mile dragstrip here in southern Indiana.

Went to Mooneyes Christmas Party and luckily got one run in! Lots of oil downs, and a few crashes put a damper on everything.... but the one run we did get was a nice strong run, felt real good!

Well... we had a great first day at Eagle Field this year. Raced a lot of flatheads, and a lot of close races... but all good things must come to an end I suppose...

On our last run I was running "Roseville Carl" here on the Hamb and it was a FANTASTIC run all the way until the finish line... when it chucked a rod out the side of the oil pan... woops! :p This week I'll tear the engine down but it looks like we lost a couple rods, a few pistons, and the cam. Not sure how the crank is but I'm sure it aint pretty...

I guess now we have an excuse to build a bigger motor!

We pulled the head off at Eagle, here is a picture of one of the pistons, that is now at an angle...

Some good news though. My dad and I made wood grips for the steering wheel! They look great and worked out real good this weekend!
