I’ve been checking out this car parked in a field for about 10 years now, now that I’m almost ready to take on another project I think this one could be candidate and I think it would make an awesome custom but before i go knocking on the famers front door I’d like to know what it is so I can pretend know what i’m talking about… <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Looks to me like it could be a 1942 or a 1947/1948 dodge or plymouth. Last time I tried to get near the car a big dog chased me away… oh yeah, he also has what looks like a 1934 ford truck body and frame sitting on the side of the barn.. I’m hoping for a package deal.

guys it is definitely a 1940 chevy. The headlights are a big clue, if you can't tell just by looking at the roof line and side trim.

40 Chevys have separate headlights (like the car pictured) and 41's are part of the front fenders.

They are not molded into the fenders on a 40 Chev. Its definitely a 40ish Chev.

i took those photos from the dirt road with a zoom, then my rez was too high so i took a photo of my computer screen.
while i was doing the rottweiler shuffle i had a hard time focusing oh the car and spent more time focusing on getting back over the fence!

Get some beef knuckles at the butchers and boil them for 1/2 an hour.
They're great for the dog due to all the marrow and must taste good?
They're good for you too as you don't get your ass bit!

Good luck with your recon!

2 ambien in a cheap piece of steak and you got a nice doggie.
Might get the farmer all jacked up though.
Then again, if you go with/through the farmer, the doggie isnt a problem.

41 Chevy had the lights molded into the fenders. 40 had separate buckets bolted on top the fenders.

26. 40 Chevy is the first thing I thought of looking at it.

a word to the wise, I have been chasing old cars for MAny many years, ..... NEVER jump a fence and NEVER go anywhere on ANY property you do not own, unless you have permission from the property owner.
NASTY things happen, mainly because the property owner does not know who you are or why you are on his property, Look at it this way, If you come home from work and there is someone in YOUR Garage looking thru YOUR stuff. what would you do?
