  1. Like he said he wants a low budget driver

  2. Nice goin...I won't get into the SBC debate and soil your thread..it's a great thread and I hope you keep posting and ignoring the bullshit.
You've inspried me to truck on down to Harbor Freight for one of those el-cheapo shrinker/stretchers so I don't have to drive 15 miles to borrow my buddies'.

Your doing an excellent job! I dont care what motor anyone runs I like em all, if you put a 3 hp briggs in it I wouldent judge. As long as the truck is out on the road and gettin speeding tickets thats all that matters.

elmcitydave If thats your first time with a shrinker stretcher you sure made it look easy. Keep it up this is getting good!

Welcome to the club. I love the flatheads and mine has never given me a single issue . Have @ 25 of them rat holed away. It's your build and your choice. But the bottom line is you saved another classic no matter how you build it she'll rule the road again. Great job!!!!

works great on on 18 gauge sheet. wouldn't budge 16 gauge. try to keep your brake edge around 3/4 of an inch or so. take your time and it will come around nicely.

so far i made 2 patches with the hf shrinker. the tool cost me $120.00 out the door with a coupon. buying a front fender patch alone would cost more than that with shipping. i cant wait for people to start busting my balls because i used a harbor freight tool. a chevy motor and a hf shrinker? break out the tar and feathers!

i will keep updating until the truck is on the road. the ultimate goal here is to build a nice solid driver without breaking the bank. i plan on getting the truck on the road in primer. after i sort out all the mechanicals , i will go back and revisit the bodywork.

You should actually have a horse pull it... That would be most traditional.

Bad ass truck built with shit lying around? I'm in. You could put a sunbeam mixer under the hood, and as long as it drove it would still be more bad ass than my driveway art. Something about a car on blocks makes girls' legs close... I haven't figured it out yet. Anyway nice truck. Do you work in the bike business?
