haha, and the wives will knit.

If i have the time to get away between getting the car finished and getting wedding stuff finished for the 20th we'll make a run down but there's a good chance that my October road trip money will be used on a spinning wheel for the soon to be mrs.

  2. I start a new job next week. I think I can quite shaving after a week.

    I'M IN!

Then the BBQ in April would be "the return of the beards, it was cold the last few months and now there bigger and badder" hahaha

  5. Haha! Whoa! I missed all this beard banter. Awesome!

  6. Ok, here's more stuff that I've been working on.

The odd space under the bed behind the cab kinda bugged me so I made up the little filler panels to ease the transition.

    First out of poster board...

    Then steel...

Then I made a little hammer form out of some aluminum to make some end caps...

    Here they are capped...

  10. Thanks Boos!
And yes David, you are correct. That's the first thing I asked my consultant (mrs cactus1) about. We are still undecided so far though I may mock up a little sumthin'.

Here are some pics of our trip down to Joplin for the Drags. We drove with KCTAChris and our pal Jim.

We took our time and made a day of the trip down. It was a good time and fun to roll in together at the host hotel that night.

    looking damn nice.
makes me wonder if i should chop my truck when i finally get around to building it or leave it a high roof.
any chance of a side on picture showing complete truck and profile of?

  14. It really is cool, and he drives the piss out of it!

Thanks Tuck! That was a great weekend man.

Thank you V! I don't have any pics dead from the side because it is my least favorite view, ha! But, I did see one that someone took in another thread that I will try to find. I personally think it could use a couple inches taken out but I doubt that I will do it to this one any time soon.

  17. Well deserved, Mike!
    Great job.

  18. I realy like that bumper Mike and the bed side things.
I want to make a bumper like that for my coupe. ;)

  19. Thanks Jay- o lay!

    Thank you Martin!

Thanks Gary! I think a Nerf bar would fit right in on that beautiful coupe of yours...

  20. Perhaps the biggest news of all is that after fighting with these things for the last year, I think I finally have my 3-2's sorted out.

Since the trip to the Drags was behind me, I decided to torture myself and try to get my carbs sorted out again.

Several months ago I bought a couple of new base plates for the end carbs. I recently reworked the middle carb that I've been running since the first one shit the bed.

I converted the middle carb to manual choke since the automatic one was giving me fits and I methodically made the change over one piece at a time. After each change I ran the truck to make sure everything was cool before I would proceed to the next part.

I had to redo my fuel lines because they had been apart so many times they wouldn't seal anymore.

  23. Nice piece of hardware!

  24. So after all that, I finally got to drive it on Sunday to the Greaserama. It finally seems to work like it's suppose to!( hope I didn't just jinx it!)

When those end carbs dump it's a real kick in the pooper!

I'm anxious to get it back out again.

those air filters are bananas. what's the story with them?

  27. They are copies of the Boettger Air cleaners that were on the first Corvettes. Pretty cool huh? I'm glad I finally get to use the little m-f'ers!!!
