Deuce Tudor, The Basic... Beginning

This is just plain awesome! Great job!
What are you using for colored sealer, and black chassis paint?

 

It's a BASF dark grey sealer, tinted blue and base clear on the chassis components

 

This will be the final installment of this part of the build, the first stage of this build is done, the car made it to the showdown and back with no issues or problems. Here are some pics

I just found this thread and WOW! What a nice tudor sedan... A clean, simple and straight forward approach to you basic hiboy sedan. I love it.

Well I have put about 500 miles on it so far, did a car club reliability run this past weekend, and wouldn't you know, it went home on a roll back. The speedway motors driveshaft that I used twisted off like a plastic straw. A friend has informed me that there was a batch of kit to for shafts made with too thin walled tubing.

 

well that pretty much sux...killer sedan tho

 

Bummer! But hey, soon you'll be cruising it regularly in no time.

 

Real disappointed to hear about the problems with Speedway. I've counted on them for years and have usually been pretty happy. However, I've been seeing more and more of this lately. I hope the management there sees stuff like this and corrects the problem.

 

A little 2500 mile update, fixed the driveshaft issue, using a cutdown 39 shaft, and speedway made good on the twisted one. I had some issues with the carbs, had to swap one of the 97 bodies out, but it is running well now. After much input I have decided to leave the car in sealer for a while, and just enjoy it. Made a roof insert from black sunbrella boat canvas, and got some closeout interior fabric to cover the seats and make some door panels. This thing drives so nice and I have been using it almost daily.

Well after 1 year and about 3500 miles I can say that this is one of my favorite cars I have built to date. Had a few speed bumps, the first being the broken driveshaft, and the next more recent problem with the trans, which required me to build a new three speed stuffed with real 25 tooth Zephyr gears. Also swapped out the cheap aluminum radiator with a copper and brass walker unit. here are some pics from a recent show.
