I did a 38 packard, made a mess out of it. I was talked into using an S-10 front end with an Izusu rack. The steering was twichy, finally got a valve like they use on mustang 2, and it helped. I understand a 67-68 camero front end will work. If I was doing it again I would keep the packard front end. It has independent front suspension with coil springs. way ahead of its time. Power brakes with a vacuum cannister is doable, and I understand some of the folks are modifying the steering to power steering.
I subframed mine, the S-10 frame was exactly the same. Only took a few minutes to weld it on. Could not use the S-10 steering sector, because it stuck out too far. good luck.
