I was thinking of mounting my shocks ( this is a Studebaker, not a Ford, but similar design, & finished result expectations ) on the front frame notch up & using the old spring pad for the bottom of the shock mount, & fabbing a shock mount on top of the notch... I have to bend my passenger steering arm off my spindle to clear the 12" Caddy brakes I'm going to run
Stripped 6 layers of enamel of the firewall giving Aircraft stripper a run for its money. poor neglected shoebox
That is one sweet truck. On the lower rear shock mount did you cut part of it off and just use the stud end ? great job on the build now I need to get off my ass and finish my f1.
You could probably just use the whole thing and make it completely flat, wish I would a done that instead.
Great build thread. Hope you don't mind if I steel a few of your ideas for my F1 panel build. Subscribed!
Modified stock xmember for c4 mount Got me some blockhugger headers but still gonna have to move the steering box back a 1" or 2" got me some 15x7's out back
Awesome so far. If I can add one thing I'm sure you already know, please gusset the shit out of the steering box mount. Can't wait to see it back together!
Any updates on your ride? I was looking at the rear notch you did to see how that worked out for you. I have seen some that notch about 6-8 inches above the top of the frame rail, I dont think it has to be that high, yours is what I will probally do if you don't mind taking your idea. I have also seen taking a half round steel pipe and using that. Look forward to your progress
Subscribed, now you have the custom, hotrod and pickup. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
You can use steel pipe,I was too lazy to cut a circle. I didn't go too high still want to use it as a truck and not have a big notch and rear-end taking up the middle of my bed.
Speedway front disc kit How it sits now...G78 front L78 rear Cut 5" of the steering column and rod down, slugged and rewelded Nice and far away from my face...lol
Now on to the fun part..Speedway custom exhaust kit,cut up collectors off my old mustang h-pipe and a headman crossover all migged together
All this cool shit happens on the Southside and I didn't know it. Nice work on a neat project. Glad to see other good stuff happening in South STL. Andy from STL
Cleaned the brakes up and running new lines with the Mustang master cylinder. Ordered the kit from ECI and would have just put the kit together myself if I knew the bad customer service I was gonna get. bought 1987 Jeep wrangler wheel cylinders which are exact replacement for the stockers
