Well, I want to make it out to the Pittsburgh historics someday too. I can say this is worth the trip, even at the price tag.

Next time I bump into a real photographer I will ask :D

As I am being archane and shooting with film, with the goal of trying to create period imagery with period equipment. Most of the cars I am shooting would have been shot in black and white film in thier hayday. Color photography didnt really become prevalent for the real world until the late 50's or 60's, and even then black and white still got a lot of use.

I like real black and white film (As I used 4 different types here), because you think differently about how you shoot. With b&w you look for the absence of light, textures, angles, movement as these things will show up differently on black and white film. The color film I used is Velvia slide (color positive) film, and there is nothing better for recording the real color as your eyes see it. downside is that it is horribly expensive and not much forgiveness.

Beautiful work. You are making me want to dig out my old F.

I am waiting for more coverage of the PB Concours.

wow, thanks! dig out that poor little guy, he is lonely in his box :)

I shot 5 different cameras over the weekend, and 3 different formats. When ever my composition gets off, I grab my brownie...that makes you think!

yes, but I don't have any detail shots of the frame drop.

NWVS has some more shots, or you can try searching for Ed Archer speedster online...

Fantastic photos. Thanks for taking the time to post them.

  24. Sarge,

There should be a tech page on the NWVS site about putting that dip in a T axle.

  27. Thanks, FurB- I knew it ws on ONE of those darned "T" sites :)

  28. As usual, you've done a magnificent job. I'm glad we ran into each other Friday night. Did you get any night shots? Archer told me he "dropped' a valve. That's why they were swapping out a cylinder head, under the headlights of the pick'um up truck.

It's too bad we broke early. But, we still had a great time. Our season is done. We have a few parts to make for next year; but should have the car ready for "Test and Tune" at Buttonwillow Raceway in January.

Keep up the great work. We hope to see you, at the very least, next June at Sonoma (Sear's Point).

    JK
