Clutch cover?

I have a '66 283 Chevy mated to a Saginaw 4-speed. I need a cover to cover the flywheel/clutch....something that bolts to the cast iron bell housing/engine block. I searched the usual supply houses, but all I find are covers for auto trannies. What's up with this? Anyone have a source for a manual trans application? Thanks in advance!

Tell you need one for a truck with a 3 speed.

 

Striking out with those 2 links. Ebay is loaded with covers for auto trannies.

 

Those covers are NOT easy to find any more. Took us forever to finally find one last year. Most of 'em got tossed behind the shed many a moon ago. DD

 

Use key word "Bellhouseing" and nothing else.
Question, you stated 66' but what Bellhouseing do you have? Open bottom that exposes about 1/4 to 1/3 of the flywheel. Or Closed all around and uses flat cover plate.

Cast iron bellhousing, open bottom that exposed the lower 1/4 to 1/3rd of the flywheel. Not sure what vehicle the bellhousing came out of. Thanks for the help!

 

Yessir. The gal that helped me tried her best, but they don't show one in their system for anything newer than 1959.

Same response from the Old Chevy Parts folks.

I think these things are made of unobtanium or something. lol.

 

One for a '58 chevy car is a bolt on if that helps.

I may know where there is one, let me ask a friend.

Your biggest problem is that for years they were just tossed as an unimportant part. Being tin it didn't take the elements long to take their toll.

Those are hard to find? Seems like everyone and their dog kept them around here... I have like 50-75 of that style cover... now the flat style that they switched to after it, not so much... those suckers are hard to find because they were usually forgot in assembly, and the worker was too lazy to notch it or drop the starter to put it on...
