Hot Rods New model A coupe hits the steets.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Hot Rod Ron, Aug 18, 2012.

  1. So about 9 years ago I parted out my 30 coupe to be able to buy the 32 coupe I have now. I sold the body to a childhood friend. Kevin and I grew up together and we always talked about having hot rods and doing road trips and such. Well Mr Kevin now has the coupe on the road after along build process that had it's ups and down and starts and stops. Here some pics of the car. The first one is when I was driving it and it was featured in the original car kulture deluxe when hot rod magazine owned it and the photos after are the car now. Enjoy.

Nice little hot rod, but I'm confused. If the first picture was when you owned it, how did it get to the rusty condition in the second picture ? Or is that picture before you did the car yourself ?

    Don

  4. The rust was from the body sitting in his carport while he got his business up and running. It took Kevin a long time to build the car with a new business and life and such. Kevin ended up having the body sandblasted and striped and started over when it came time for body work and such.

Ah, I see. Bet it broke your heart to see such a nice car get like that, but at least he brought it back to life and did a nice job.

  7. I was never worried about it. I knew it would be done someday and that day has come.

  8. Right on the money, great hot rod

  15. I absolutely love that body and frame color. I get nostalgic looking at it, as a neighbor of mine (WW2 vet) used to literally coat his basement in that color, painting parts and tools. After my time in the service, I see why; that stuff is everywhere!

  18. Halibrand style race fuel cap for the fuel cell in the rear. He has been driving the crap out of the car and is loving it. I think it will be at goodguys in scottsdale in nov.

After looking at the first couple of pictures, I was REALLY scared. Looks like he did a wonderful job of bringing an already cool car back to life. Congrats to both of you.

I'm not wild about the wheel color either, but he didn't ask me.... The rest of the car makes up for it.

  27. How nice is that!

  28. Make that happen so we can have a good group to cruze with between teach'm, El borbora, my dad, kevin and you that would be a great line up of early cars.

  29. Frenchy you have meet Kevin before in the late 80's early 90's he had a 56 oval in silver with stay fast blue rag top with BRM wheels and gene berg motor. He still has that car in the garage in storage.
