Got some more done on the car....ben working on the dash and the transition from cowl to dash. I finished the top of the cowl but didn't have the roll under done. When I did the roll under I put a flange in for the dash to bolt to. The dashis a stock closed car dash reworked to look like a roadster. Also mounted a 36 column drop and a tube for the column. Also got one of the seats mounted. It's a bus driver's seat from a 50's GMC bus. Yes I have a match....try finding matching bus driver's seats. They're pretty cool. the seat back is adjustable by picking it up and sliding it front and back. It sits in little slots. The angle can be changed too. I did everything I could to mount it as low as possible.
Net area to get attention area between the trunklid and the cabin area. It took two pieces to make this area. I think I made thi area about 2 inches shorter than a stock roadster. Mine is about 6 inches. Here it is done except the top lip gets folded over an inner panel. Today I got my doors back from the blaster and couldn't help but to start the top of the passenger side. I got the outer part on but there's a lot of hammer a dolly work to do yet. Then I have to do a little inner structure work. It's finally starting to look like something. Clark

Wow cool I want to see a pic of it. I can't wait to see that thing done. I'm getting itchy to start another one. Check out the tranny I put pictures of in another post you'll appreciate it. Did you see the pictures I sent Towers?
Did some hammer and dolly work on the door top today....came out real nice. Also got the inner part almost done. Just need to add the flange at the door edge. Looks like I might be able to use my 33 door latches after all. Will try them tomorrow.
7 day work week !! shootin' for the sand ? the body is lookin' real trick ! what trick do you have up your sleeve for the radiator ? did you see the pic's of the planned track ?
Redz...just shooting for ASAP. I keep putting the radiator off hoping it will fix itself.. Don't think it will be too much of a problem. I can move the grill forward and inch or two if I have to. I do want to run it on the sand if possible! Clark
Well one thing led to another today. I bolted wheels on the car today. Sat it down and stared at it for a while. Well when I cut 4 inches off the hoodsides for the 37 grill...things got real tight for a radiator. I added 2 inches back to the hoodsides to see what it would look like. I liked the length of the hood but the frame horns looked wrong. Well off came the frame horns. After the frame horns were gone, Miles (VONBIRCH) was brainstrming the headlight mounts with me. I wanted a removeable mount and here's what we came up with. The headlight bar is mounted into a peice of DOM and will slide right out. The bar flows nicely with the grill and axle. It's all just tacked together and the drivers side does not have the headlight socket. Also got my wheels figured ut for the rear..well sorta. I've got a pair of Plymouth artillery wheels that I will make into 17 inch Goodyears. First I gotta get them widened for the 750/17 Goodyear tires. Then I have to cut apart a pair of Goodyear wheels..the center is two pieces. the outer just holds the hubcap.

Thanks again everybody!! Kevin...I guess I'm gonna have to make them. I love the look of the stock ones....but with the 37 grill, pinched nose and channel, I doubt they will fit Woodbutcher...it's a good thing I don't run around in tights and a cape Clark
The styling on the front end is great, very pleasing with the axle / headlight bar like you said. I especially like the way the shape of the grille shell (narrower at the bottom) mimics the shape of the lower body and cowl - unlike Model T/A/B shells and their respective bodies. That's been "on my list" for some time and I'll put your photo at the top of my nifty ideas folder. Gary
