Once everything is welded up i will hit the floor with a wire brush and seal it up with some DP-90 epoxy and seam sealer where needed.

 

Finished the rocker and got the floor tacked in

should have all buttoned up by tomorrow time for some R&R!

Not yet. When I was cleaning the coils under it I found some of the wire insulation cracking off so I decided to rewire every circuit on it. The original wire insulation tends to fail on a 1947 fridge I guess.
Paint will be next.

 

Lil more progress finished mocking up the engine and trans,next pull it all apart and blast /paint the frame.

Way cool, I see your using Carbed Gen III engine. Some traditionalist will knock those but from the articles I've read you can get some pretty easy and streetable hp out of them. Are those Walton motor mounts welded to the chassis? Did you use adapter plates the relocate the motor mounts on the engine or reposition the mounting location on the frame?

Thanks yes they are walton engine frame mounts welded to the frame, i used dirty dingo engine mounts to make the connection worked out real nice!And i know alot of guys give the ls the stink eye but hey it is the ultimate Chevy engine.It's actually a GEN IV engine "LY6 6.0" the l92 heads are milled and a custom cam with matching valve train this engine will put out around 450 hp easy and scream up to 8 grand! backed by a super t10 4speed and 3:73's

That is going to be one hell of a fun car to drive! I like the idea of the LS engine. You can pick up and LM7 (5.3 Truck Motor) at a dam good price. My 216 gets me around for now but I'd like to do an LS motor in the future after I get a few other things completed.

How did you go about hooking up your T10? In my research a LM7 has a crank that is set back 0.40 in. compared to the first gen SBC, I'm assuming the 6.0 is the same. There's companies that make custom flywheels and bellhousing to bolt up Muncie sytle bolt pattern manual trans but I've found out that a flywheel from a 4.3 or 6.0, Sachs NFW1050 is 0.40 thicker and can be had for $60. You can then use a large diameter bellhousing from an SBC or BBC but will be missing one bellhousing bolt.

 

I used Kieslers LS bell-housing for the super t 10, Sachs clutch pressure plate rated up to 650 pnds of torque, and a Ram billet flywheel.

What headers are you using? I've got a carbed 6.0, 799 heads, and a 224 cam going in my 53 Chevy hardtop.

Finally getting somewhere
Had the frame blasted then i used por-15 semi gloss black.
Looks good for the money spent trying to keep it within budget.

 

your walton tranny mount looks different than mine but then I am running an automatic. a LS series motor will be replacing the vintage 327 hopefully this winter

Also the radio opening was damaged at some point in the car's lifetime.
I tried to straighten her out but no luck so lucky for me i had some extra parts out with the old in with the new.
