Folks Of Interest Kansas John Wiebe pictures

    A friend of mine sent me these pictures that a friend of his brother took. Must have been in the early 70s. Kansas John. Damn it was neat back then.

  2. I would date these at 1971,possibly '72. Note that his engine block is silver. It is a Donovan 417. Drag racings first dedicated racing engine. I think John was either the first, or one of the first, to use this new engine.

    That's when they started using the side spoilers in front of the slicks.. There's a name for those??? :confused:...

    As far as we have been able to verify,I had one of "Kansas Johns '' cars. It was supposed to have been a 67 car. It had spoilers in ft of the slicks, and was being bracket raced with a sbc.It had a 3/4 body,no tin past the eng.
