look how dorky my Dodge (the white one) looked with 185/70/14's when I got it. I guess the air shocks didn't help. I thought of getting a later 15" rims for it, but 61's have bigger dog dish hubcaps than a later wheel will accept., and these are too cool to give up. ... unless I put my 14 x 6 Astro Supremes on it. skinny whites... no pics I also have 14 x 7 American 5 spokes I was going to use on my 49 Chevy, but I think I will be putting them on my 92 GMC Sonoma when the tires wear out.
14's just look right on 50's and 60's iron. I always felt like 15's and 16's on 50's and 60's cars make them look stumpy.
My '54 with 14"X6" U.S.Mags swap meet special $25 for all four plus a hell of a lot of elbow grease and a Harbor Freight buffing kit.
Stock 14" steelies on 64 Mercury. I've been watching for a steal on 15s.... the 14s look too small under the skirts, so I have been going skirtless!
The thing about running 14's is that there arent any decent sized tires being made any more. The tallest I can find is 205/75/14, they are tiny and I don't have $500 a tire to spend at coker for 235/75/14's.
Before and after pics. Chucked the 13's, found these Datsun 240Z wheels on CL. 195/14 front 205/14 on rear. Lowered 3".
cant seem to get pics up but we have 5 cars that run 14s. one is my dd 62 galaxie with the original caps and the rest have crager ss or al. slots on them.only run 14 or 15 inch wheels. hate anything bigger.lol
