Well, it's time to get all cleaned up again. I havn't had the display out of the trailer since Tulsa. It will be interesting to see what kind of shape it's in. I'm going to have a couple of my buddies from our men's fellowship help me get set up. It's all local in town. Wev'e talked about the car but they've never seen it, so I'm going to put them to work. Mom thinks this is a great idea.

This is Clyde and Bob. We're part of the Retired Old Men Encouraging Others group. The ROMEO'S. They helped set up for the show. We had a good time.

The Junior Conway car was a alltime favorite of mine. Glad to see it cloned. Nice work.

OK, wer'e home. I got best display ($150.00). Hey! This "investment" is startin' to pay off. Also a class award. They are still in the trailer so I have to show em' to ya' later.

There were some nice mustang's there.
    Another nice '40.
I was drawn to this cool '48 club coupe for reasons that I'll reveal soon.

Well, we left the show and drove out of the building into a BIG Texas windstorm. We went by demolished storefronts, hangers at the local airport ripped open. There were tree branches down in our front yard. Lots of power outages. No AC today for some reason. We won't see a tech until tommorrow pm. The little orange truck headed home (Shreveport La.) on an open trailer. So not quite ready to finish up the show stuff.
This is what we saw this am looking out at the backyard.

I actually was contacted at the roundup by R&C. They called me from the car location. I was out looking things over in another area. They want to do a feature on the car. I had to tell them that the big Image magazine wants to also do one but, they won't/can't give me a time when this might happen. R&C said "when you get tired of waiting, let us know". It must be nice to be wanted...I guess. Also...very frustrating. Post# 1377.

This is the award for best display. I havn't found the class award yet. The '55 Fairlane took best in (my) class. Very deserving.

As I stated earlier, I've started another project. I've become fixated on Barris Kustom because since my youth I've realized that the cars that I liked came out of that shop. To be able to actually recreate Junior's car has been a wonder to me. There was no way that I could know what would come of this endeavor when I started. What's happened has been a major mind blow and incredible experience.
About a year and a half after doing Junior's car I realized I wanted more. What a great experience.
So, it's time to tell you that I'm starting a thread on this build. Unlike the mystery I created with Jr's build the subject of this is the behind the scene guy and his iconic '41 Ford coupe, Jesse Lopez. As I said to Jesse, this will be a fun ride. It will be titled THE JESSE LOPEZ CLONE BUILD. It will start tomorrow AM.
    This thread will continue.

Well I think the JC coupe is feeling a little neglected. I need to unload all the car show stuff out of it and, put some good gas in it. I'm really looking for a young guy that would be a good Jr for some pose picture's.

  22. Time to drive that car. Only people at car shows see it. Time to let the general public see this thing on the road.

Well Mike, you and Pete get your cars done and we'll go somewhere signifcant together.

  24. There is actually a school in Preston Hollow that looks like it was picked up out of southern CA and placed in Dallas in 1955.

Well, one of these days I'm going to be contacted about a photo shoot for a feature in 'THAT MAGAZINE' and, being a new Fort Worth guy I sure don't know where that will take place.

Jerry, have you read the letter in the new R&C? It's gotta make you feel great, it speaks to the very heart of the "why clone". Cool.

I have seen it. I don't know what to make of it. I suppose it's possible that Rob is unaware that the original magazine writer was wrong about the year of Jr's car. Part of me thinks it might be bait. Setting the stage for someone to correct him and point him to this thread. I don't feel led to do that. Maybe someone else will. I've been told that when TRJ discovered this story they went nuts.

Well, RF, are you baiting us? Setting the table for a piece on Jerry's clone? C'mon man, you can square with us, we're on the same team!
The Janet bit got a tad out of hand, don't be shy, we love you.

Shoot, I'll point him here. :)

HEY! I went out and told the JC coupe that it's going to the Good Guys Lone Star Nationals this weekend. It's second out door show since LSRU. It was excited.
